What are the types of heat treatment? What's the use of each?

Gear heat treatment refers to a metal heat processing process in which materials are heated, insulated, and cooled in a solid state to obtain the desired structure and properties.

Gear heat treatment refers to a metal heat processing process in which materials are heated, insulated, and cooled in a solid state to obtain the desired structure and properties.

Heat treatment category:

1. Overall heat treatment of gears:

Integral heat treatment is a metal heat treatment process that heats the workpiece as a whole and then cools it at an appropriate rate to obtain the required metallographic structure to change its overall mechanical properties.

2. Gear surface heat treatment:

A metal heat treatment process that changes the mechanical properties of the surface layer by heating and cooling the surface of a steel piece. Surface quenching is the main content of surface heat treatment, which aims to obtain a high hardness surface layer and favorable internal stress distribution to improve the wear resistance and fatigue resistance of the workpiece.

3. Chemical heat treatment of gears:

Chemical heat treatment is a metal heat treatment process that uses chemical reactions and sometimes physical methods to change the chemical composition and microstructure of the surface layer of steel parts in order to achieve better technical and economic benefits than homogeneous materials.
